NICARAGUA | TESTIMONIES FROM THE LATIN AMERICAN MISSIONARY ENCOUNTER (EMLA)
My experience at EMLA 2023.
I could describe it as a great gift from God. Let’s say yes, when our heart is full of joy, ready to leave everything to serve Him. Living this meeting has been one of the experiences that I treasure in my heart, an opportunity to strengthen my faith and commitment within the association.
The week of formation was very enriching, each topic led us to reflect on our mission and being Vincentian, the dynamics, recreational activities, and holy hour were part of the beautiful moments of this meeting.
During the mission week the reception by the community that welcomed us was very significant, the closeness of the people and the joy of the children; together with my mission partner Fabiola from Puerto Rico, we prepared to carry out different activities such as: praying the rosary, formation, games, listening, a space of coexistence with the community, to strengthen unity, and the importance of having Jesus in the Eucharist.
Another moment that remains in our hearts is meeting with the different members of VMY, and it seems as if we knew each other for a long time, it is the bonds that we create with the three letters that unite us and make us part of the great VMY family, motivated by the same history and the same love. And to our Vincentian Fathers and Daughters of Charity, thank you for accompanying us and being part of this joy.
Thank you, Coordinating Team, for your commitment and for making EMLA 2023 a reality.
Together with Jesus and Mary our life is mission.
