OUR ACTIVITIES

Present day apostolic activities

The members of the VMT are engaged in different apostolic activities that are coordinated with the parishes or other branches of the Vincentian Family. These activities could be grouped under the following three headings:

a) Social-charitable service
  • Collaboration and support of various social works of the Vincentian Family.
  • Support various works: hospitals, homes for the elderly, homes for children, psychiatric centers, prisons, accompany students.
  • Visits to the infirm and the poor in their homes.
  • Ministry in marginal and rural zones and engaged in work with children, young men and women who have problems adapting to their situation, women, immigrants, etc.
  • Permanent service in which young men and women commit themselves to engage in service projects in which they live together for a specific period of time (months or even years).

 

b) Evangelization
  • Support parish catechetical programs directed toward children, young men and women, adults.
  • Activities geared toward the evangelization of young men and women: workshops, meetings and gatherings, etc.
  • Support popular missions organized by members of the Congregation of the Mission.
  • Missionary experiences for a specific period of time in rural or indigenous areas.

c) Mission «ad gentes»
  • Temporary ministry in sub-developed countries.
  • Some countries maintain permanent mission communities where young men and women are sent for a specific period of time in order to collaborate in the missionary work of the Vincentian Family (Angola and Mozambique).
