COM-VMY NATIONAL CONVENTION 2025

The Association of the Children of Mary Immaculate-Vincentian Marian Youth (CoM-VMY Philippines) gathered all CoMers across the country through a National Convention held last June 12-14, 2025, at the CICM Mission Center Maryshore, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, with the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope: Strengthening the Mission to Accompany the Vincentian Marian Youth.”
The convention commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Most Rev. Patricio Abella Buzon, SDB, DD, Bishop of Bacolod, together with Rev. Fr. Rolando Limjoco, CM, National Priest Advisor of CoM-VMY Philippines, and Rev. Fr. Eugene Navida, CM, Priest Advisor of CoM-VMY NCR, as concelebrants.
One of the highlights on the first day was the Independence Day Ritual, wherein the delegates wore Filipiniana and Barong attire and altogether sang folk songs representing different regions in the country. Bro. Erl Julen Tulod, CoM-VMY National President warmly welcomed all the participants. Rev. Fr. Dominic Derramas, JCD, from the Diocese of Bacolod, serves as the speaker of the day. He explained the historical context of the Jubilee Year, relating its significance to our mission as servants of the church.
Bro. Jose Alan Tejam, Jr., CoM-VMY National Vice President, discussed the topic “Accompaniment: Role of the Advisors” on the second day of the convention. The CoMers were grouped to create the final document—a group for laypeople and another for consecrated people led by Sr. Martha Gamolo, DC, National Sister Advisor, and Rev. Fr. Rolando Limjoco, Jr., CM, National Priest Advisor of CoM-VMY Philippines. The afternoon session was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Eugene Navida, CM, where he discussed “Vincentian-Marian Leadership.” Another highlight on the second day is the socialization night, wherein the delegates joyfully participated in the games and showcased their talents through various presentations.
The final day of the national convention highlights the discussion headed by Ms. Marie Claire Balo, Lay Advisor of the CoM-VMY National Executive Board. She gave an “Orientation of Statutes, Marian Consecration, and Election Process of CoM-VMY,” which is followed by the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s Report shared by the other National Executive Board officers. The pledge of commitment of advisors was also recited by the CoMers.
The CoM-VMY National Convention 2025, which was attended by 80 participants from 28 various CoM-VMY local units and councils, calls all CoMers across the country and around the world to be Pilgrims of Hope, to journey together with faith, to accompany one another with compassion, and to strengthen our mission as Children of Mary-Vincentian Marian Youth. The three-day gathering brought us together in the spirit of hope, unity, commitment, and compassion while we walk together as one family to Jesus with Mary.
