The 6th International VMY General Assembly Will Bring Together Countries from Around the World in Salamanca
From August 17 to 23, 2026, the city of Salamanca, Spain, will host the 6th International General Assembly of the Vincentian Marian Youth (VMY), one of the most important moments in the life of the Association. The gathering will bring together representatives from VMY member countries for a time of prayer, discernment, formation, evaluation, and planning for the future of the Association.
Held every five years, the General Assembly is the highest body of participation and decision-making within VMY International. Following the 2021 Assembly, which was held online due to the circumstances of the pandemic, participants will once again meet in person to share life, strengthen international communion, and discern together the paths that the Holy Spirit is pointing out for the mission of the Association in the years ahead.
Under the motto “With Mary, Serving Today, Transforming Tomorrow,” young people, advisors, and leaders of the Association will be invited to reflect on the current reality of VMY around the world and on the challenges of evangelizing young people in different cultural and social contexts.
Among the main topics of the Assembly are the evaluation of the journey undertaken by the Association in recent years, the definition of pastoral priorities for the next five-year term, the approval of the revised International Statutes, and the election of the new lay members of the International Council, who will accompany and animate the life of VMY throughout the world during the next mandate.
The Assembly will take place at the Saint Vincent de Paul Spirituality Center in Santa Marta de Tormes, Salamanca, and will include delegations from the various continents where VMY is present. In addition to country delegates, members of the International Council, the International Secretariat, and special guests will also participate.
As part of the preparation process, the Organizing Commission has also developed an official General Assembly application. This platform has served as the main communication channel with participating countries, bringing together important documents, circular letters, evaluation processes concerning the life of the Association in recent years, information about the Assembly logo and motto, and the registration process. During the Assembly, the application will continue to be used to provide working materials, documents, and all relevant information for participants.
More than a working meeting, the General Assembly is an experience of international family. It is a time to listen, share, pray, and renew the missionary commitment that unites thousands of Vincentian Marian Youth members throughout the world.
We entrust this important moment to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Vincent de Paul, so that this Assembly may be a true time of grace, communion, and renewal for the whole VMY Association.
