CAMEROON | VMY NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

DAY OF CELEBRATION, DAY OF JOY: “BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH AND THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD” Mt 5, 13-16
The largest gathering of the VINCENTIAN MARIAN YOUTH OF CAMEROON, the National Assembly, commenced on Saturday, July 29th, within the premises of the FOYER PÈRE MONTI in Ebolowa, a peripheral city located in the south of the country. The event is expected to be colorful, filled with the enthusiasm of its members. However, there is also a bittersweet feeling due to the impending departure of at least two members of the executive committee: the National Coordinator, BONIFACE MENDOU, and the National Treasurer, ARMAND JOËL POLLA. These two outstanding individuals have truly been the pillars of our organization, serving with unwavering dedication, commitment, and a strong desire to educate and serve for many years. What a joy for the VMY to have such devoted individuals, including our National Advisor, Vincent de Paul MBIAKOP, who lives up to his name and works tirelessly behind the scenes with unwavering enthusiasm.
It’s important to note that this National Assembly is held every two years and precedes the camp. These two days provide an opportunity for reflection on various issues in the development of our association and, furthermore, to propose solutions. It also symbolizes the end of different mandates and the election of a new executive committee for VMY – CAMEROON. In this regard, we also had to present the document containing the revised statutes, which must be submitted to the international secretariat for approval.
It was even more wonderful to see the consistency of the various reports from the outgoing committee. This helps us understand that there is much work to be done, and the incoming members should take this as an example. Their challenge is to revitalize, inspire, galvanize, and challenge the regions and local groups even further.
Furthermore, we want to invite each one of us to prayer, and, just as the Virgin Mary said, “The Lord has done great things for me,” He has done the same for us. It’s important to emphasize that, in the past few mandates, we decided to have vice-presidents to enhance training as much as possible. We are pleased to announce that the new National Coordinator was the Vice President two years ago. Therefore, the main committee is composed as follows:
- President: Romaric NJOYA
- Secretary: Carelle CHEBOU
- Treasurer: Delore EWANE
Deputies:
- Vice President: Francky AFOKAM
- Deputy Secretary: Nathalie FOUBE
- Deputy Treasurer: Emmaculate CHE
We extend our best wishes to the incoming committee. May they be the cornerstone upon which others can rely. May the gentle Virgin Mary be by their side so that they may love others as she loves us and do their work with a good heart and gratitude. Never forget that a good leader considers others as themselves.
To Jesus with Mary!
Carelle CHEBOU, National Secretary
