CENMEX 2025 TESTIMONY

Greetings to all the VMY youth!

I want to share my experience at the VMY Encounter of Central America and Mexico (CENMEX), which took place at the Retreat House of St. Francis of Assisi in Capira, Panama, from January 12 to 19, 2025. This was my first time attending a VMY encounter outside of Honduras. I was motivated by my desire to understand the realities of other countries, learn from their experiences, and share how the association functions in my country. I aimed to embrace new commitments with responsibility and contribute to the strengthening of our association.

Each day was filled with significant moments. The themes, workshops, dynamics, cultural evenings, and Eucharist all helped us grow in knowledge and fraternity. We were not just young people from different countries; we became one family with a shared identity. I was impressed to see that despite our differences, we shared the same love for the Association and the Vincentian Family.

This encounter changed my perspective on VMY. I recognized the importance of formative processes and the Vincentian charism in our daily lives. I also reaffirmed the need to nurture our spirituality and maintain a close relationship with the Virgin Mary. This experience helped me realize that being part of VMY is a call to serve with love and commitment.

Now, I am eager to apply what I have learned in my daily life with hope and encouragement. I understand that challenges are opportunities for growth and improvement. I am motivated to serve with greater dedication in VMY Honduras and to inspire other young people to discover the richness of our Association. I dream of a stronger VMY, filled with committed young people who have deep love for God, the Virgin, the Vincentian Family, and the Church.

To Jesus with Mary,

Ana Jackeline Cruz
