The International Vincentian Marian Youth Association is an updated form of the Association of the Sons and Daughters of Mary which originated from the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré on July 18, 1830. We are an international youth association committed to other young men and women, the world, the Church and the poor. At this time, we are present in 78 countries and have more than 30,000 members on five continents.
The members of the Association commit themselves to live and work actively and responsibly in communion with the members of the Church and its pastors on the local and world level.
It is an Association mainly of young lay people, within the framework of Lay International Associations of the Faithful (cf. Canons 298-329).
The members of the VMY commit themselves to the following of Christ. They discover Mary in the Gospel, as a model for all believers and as a woman who embraced faith and listened to and acted on the Word.
Through our birth in the Family of St. Vincent de Paul, we are inspired by the Vincentian charism and make evangelization and service of the poor distinctive characteristics of our presence in the Church.
