National Congress of VMY Madagascar

The National Congress of the VMY of Madagascar was held from August 7 to 11, 2024, in the diocese of Antsirabe. Nearly 2000 members, including religious figures, attended the event.

The theme for this Congress was: “Marian Vincentian Youth, Humble, Lifted by Christ, Making the World a Better Place.”

The opening and closing Masses began at 9 AM at the Petit Séminaire Mandaniresaka on August 8 and August 11, 2024.

The pilgrims arrived on August 7, 2024, and returned to their respective dioceses on Monday, August 12, 2024.

During the congress, there were Masses, catechism sessions, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, mutual knowledge sharing, fellowship, and a pilgrimage.

16 dioceses participated in the congress, including: Tolagnaro, Farafangana, Ihosy, Antananarivo, Fianarantsoa, Toliara, Ambositra, Antsiranana, Mahajanga, Morondava, Toamasina, Mananjary, Port-Bergé, Fénérive-Est, and Antsirabe.

The first speaker during the conferences was the bishop of the diocese of Antsirabe, His Excellency Monsignor Jean Pascal ANDRIATSOAVINA, who elaborated on the chosen theme of the Congress: “Marian Vincentian Youth, Humble, Lifted by Christ, Making the World a Better Place,” followed by a lecture from Mrs. Frédéline RAKOTOARIVELO, a host from Radio Don Bosco, who addressed the topics “Making the World a Better Place” and “Youth and Technology,” and concluded with a talk on “Youth Ministry” led by Dr. Gérard Cécilien RABOANARY, Secretary General of the Episcopal Commission for the Apostolate of the Laity in Madagascar.
