PERU | TESTIMONIES FROM THE LATIN AMERICAN MISSIONARY ENCOUNTER (EMLA)

Leaving my home country, Peru, with great excitement, we set out to participate in this grand Latin American Missionary Encounter, an event that brought together 35 young people from different countries. We were about to share this beautiful experience outside of my homeland, always trusting that God had a great purpose for me.

In the company of the Peruvian delegation, we arrived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where we were warmly welcomed with love and joy by the Daughters of Charity.

Subsequently, an intense week of the encounter began, during which we immersed ourselves in the Word of God and formation topics that served as the foundation for a deep preparation, instilling confidence to take the next step – “THE MISSION.”

We embarked on the mission to the communities of Cuyamel and Potrerillos. It was there that we discovered a beautiful place inhabited by such warm-hearted people. Even with so little, they gave so much. I could see God in their faces, and I carried a precious treasure in my heart, “The love of God within them.” Just a single look from each person I met and visited was enough to encounter Christ and Mary in them. I am grateful to God for this incredible opportunity, and I can’t help but recall the wise words of Jesus: “Come and follow me.”
