Campos de Misión en Estrada y Alentejo

The members of the VMY have taken on a special challenge which enables them to respond to the invitation of Pope Francis to become a Church that reaches out to others, reaches out to those persons living on the peripheries of our society (Evangelii Gaudium, #46). They have adapted the style of the popular mission that was preached in the parishes of Entradas and Alentejo (Southern Portugal).

As we have stated this was planned by the members of the VMY as a response to the evangelizing commitment that Pope Francis defined in his letter Evangelii Gaudium as the true dynamism of personal fulfillment. The program consists of various activities that will allow the members of the VMY to draw closer to the members of a given parish. The missionary team is composed of a priest/brother from the Congregation, a Daughter of Charity and eleven members of the VMY. This team will go to the rural areas where many people do not know God and therefore there is an urgency to plant in those areas the seed of love and joy. Let us pray for this team and for all the communities that will receive this team.
