VMY GREECE | 14TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Vincentian Marian Youth Greece: Celebrates its 14th Anniversary on the 29th of October
In memory of Sister Emma Rivero DC, whose guidance, and support played a pivotal role in VMY Greece’s journey and its remarkable achievements.
VMY Greece celebrated its 14th Anniversary on October 29th, a momentous occasion that commemorated more than a decade of dedicated efforts in empowering the youth of Greece. Since its foundation, VMY Greece has accomplished a series of significant milestones, each contributing to the organization’s growth and its profound impact on the lives of young people. In this Anniversary also served as a tribute to the late Sister Emma Rivero, DC, whose guidance, and support played a pivotal role in VMY Greece’s journey and its remarkable achievements.
In every anniversary, we made it tradition to start with the world missionary rosary introduced by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. As it is a wonderful way to relate to the world around us and gain an understanding of what it means to belong to the Universal Church.
The highlight of the occasion was Kuya Thad’s remarkable initiative to rewrite the lyrics of a famous song, thereby remixing it with heartfelt sentiments dedicated to the memory of Sister Emma. Followed by dynamic group presentations of the MERCY (Mission, Hope, Friendship, Compassion & Joy) Team that showcased the talents and energy of the youths involved.
Over the years, VMY Greece has made remarkable strides in its outreach efforts, creating a strong network to support underprivileged people, entertaining the elderly in the home for the aged. They have initiated projects that provide food, clothing, and education to those in need.
We as VMY Greece aim to create a platform for young individuals to find their voices and become leaders. Through monthly sessions, mentoring and joining different church ministries such as choir, lectors, knights of the altar an they’ve empowered countless youths to reach their full potential.
Dreams for VMY Greece in the coming years would be to create new leaders in the group, have a fixed apostolate and be a firm member within the Catholic Communities in Greece.
Overall, VMY Greece’s 14th Anniversary was a testament to the power of youth-led initiatives and the impact of a dedicated organization. It celebrated a rich history of milestones while igniting the passion and energy of the next generation of leaders who will continue to uplift and empower the Vincentian Marian Youth of Greece.
