VMY PERU | EXPERIENCE AT THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF YOUNG VINCENTIANS AND WORLD YOUTH DAY 2023
I am very grateful to God for belonging to the great Vincentian Family, which is bigger than I imagined.
The experience of the EIYV and WYD made me realize that we are many young people living the faith and the Vincentian charism, and sharing with other countries and cultures helped me to complement my being a Christian.
This wonderful experience has encouraged me to always seek to do good and to continue believing, because in life we always need to have a spirit of faith.
For me, the VMY and WYD seemed something impossible, that I could only follow through the networks or television. However, my VMY friends, who had already participated in VMY and WYD in the past, helped me to believe that it was possible. Thanks to their support, I started my journey and I worked hard. The Lord was putting good people in my way, who, even without knowing me, gave me generous help.
From the EIJV, I loved sharing our Vincentian being, each one in his own way. Sincerely, seeing so many Vincentians together and from different countries, filled me with emotion because it reminded me of my essence.
Living WYD 2023 was a blessing for my life, listening and seeing the Holy Father was a gift, I witnessed his effort for the Church and his love for the youth.
There are many words the Pope said that I would like to share, but I will keep these: “(Young people) replace fears with dreams, do not be stewards of fears, but entrepreneurs of dreams!” So let us not be stewards of fears, let us give ourselves permission to dream.
A big hug!
