A SPIRITUAL AND PRACTICAL JOURNEY AT THE VINCENTIAN MARIAN YOUTH FORMATION CAMP
In the heart of the mountains of Lebanon, between August 17 and 21, 2023, an exceptional event took place: the Vincentian Marian Youth Formation Camp. Welcoming 160 participants from all walks of life, this dynamic Christian movement chose as its inspiring theme “This Is Where You Will Start Again.” This spiritual and personal development retreat prepared participants to become not only group leaders, but also active witnesses to VMY values in the modern world.
Spirituality and Leadership: A Dual Purpose:
Guided by a spiritual vision, the camp’s primary aim was to proclaim God’s word, offering participants the opportunity to leave invigorated and inspired by their faith. However, the training had an additional objective, namely, to prepare these young people to become enlightened leaders capable of leading successful meetings. Their future mission to guide and inspire others was to be supported by a solid foundation of practical and spiritual skills.
Spiritual Exploration:
Spiritual sessions, rich in meaning, explored a variety of themes, inviting participants to reflect deeply on their lives and values. Topics such as “Failure and Success”, “Inner freedom”, “Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone” were discussed. Participants were also encouraged to reflect on their expectations for the future, and to bear concrete witness to VMY values in the contemporary world.
Technical training:
As a training group, participants also immersed themselves in essential practical sessions. Workshops on “Self-awareness”, “Stress Management”, “Conflict Resolution Within a Group” strengthened their leadership skills. More specific topics such as “Intervention with Children in Difficulty” and “The Art of Videography and Editing” broadened their horizons and skills.
Consecration and Conclusion:
The spiritual climax was marked by a Mass of Consecration for one of the participants, reflecting the group’s deep commitment to faith and mission. The Vincentian Marian Youth Formation Camp, a Christian movement dedicated to spiritual and personal growth, left a lasting impression. Participants left better prepared for the future, connected to their spirituality and eager to bear witness to VMY values in the modern world.
