Encounter of Father Tomaž Mavrič and the VMY in Rwanda and Burundi
To Jesus with Mary!
I would like to share with you the joy that the Vincentian Marian Youth of the Province of Central Africa feels with the visit of Father Tomaž Mavrič, CM, Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity, President of the Famvin at the international level and Director-General of the Vincentian Marian Youth.
In fact, Father General since March 12, 2023, is in the middle of a visit here in Central Africa visiting different communities of the Lazarist Fathers, Daughters of Charity, Famvin, including VMY in Central Africa, Rwanda and Burundi. His visit will last until March 24, 2023.
On March 18, 2023, Father was welcomed in a warm manner at the camp of Mahama.
Let us recall that this camp is located since 2015 in the Diocese of Kibungo here in Rwanda. Since 2017 the camp chaplaincy is assumed by the Lazarist Fathers of the Rwanda Burundi region.
In his message Father reminded us of the invitation of the Lord Jesus: “I was hungry you gave me food, thirsty you gave me drink, a stranger you welcomed me (Matthew 25:35)
The VMY group of the camp responded excellently to the appointment. The young people sang songs of joy, missionary, Marian and Vincentian. The sharing of food to our masters and lords was done in the presence of Father Tomaž Mavrič and by Father himself.
