SLOVENIA | CREATIVE PROPAGATION OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL

VMY Slovenia is actively engaged in disseminating the miraculous medal among the community. Multiple times each year, we collaborate with parish priests across various parishes throughout the country to deliver this inspiring message.

Our group brings together readers and singers, actively engaging local children in a short play. The presentation of the medal during Mass is executed through both text and a song dedicated to the miraculous medal. Various symbols emerge individually throughout the song, including depictions of Mary, rays from hands, a trampled snake, the inscription ‘O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!’, and the reverse side featuring the intertwined M with a cross, two hearts, and twelve stars making their initial appearance.

Following the Holy Mass, we consistently distribute medals to the people. The response from people is consistently positive. Even in areas where the medal is already familiar, individuals are delighted to see us and express sincere gratitude for our visit. The presentation is regarded as a special blessing, often evoking tears of joy among both the audience and ourselves, even if we have witnessed a similar presentation elsewhere before.

In addition to these presentations, we engage in discussions about the medal during regular meetings or spiritual exercises for the youth. During the recent spiritual exercises held from November 3rd to 5th, the theme centered around the nature of VMY and the identity of a VMY member. Given the close connection between VMY and the origin of the miraculous medal, we delved into this topic during one of the workshops. Following the discussion, children worked in groups to craft representations of both sides of the medal. They also shared their experiences of encountering this image and identified family members who joyfully wear it.

We will persist in discussing the apparition of Mary and the origin of the medal during meetings. Additionally, we are eager to respond to invitations from priests for presentations, and we may also proactively suggest them ourselves, aiming to propagate this sacred medal among all people.
