The Official General Assembly App: A Space for Encounter, Information, and Participation
From the very first stages of preparation for the 6th International General Assembly of VMY, the Organizing Committee sought to create ways to bring the participating countries closer together and facilitate access to information about the gathering. As a result of this effort, the official General Assembly 2026 app was developed—a platform that brings together, in one place, all the materials and resources needed to accompany the journey toward Salamanca.
More than a communication tool, the app has become a true space for international participation. Through the app, countries registered for the Assembly and followed the instructions sent by the Organizing Committee over the past several months.
Among the available content are all the circular letters sent to the National Councils, bringing together important information about the organization of the gathering, the preparatory processes, and guidelines for participants.
The app also provides the Assembly’s official visual identity, including the logo, the theme, and a detailed explanation of the symbols representing this important moment in the life of the Association.
One of the platform’s most important sections was dedicated to the Assembly’s preparatory work. Between February and June 2026, the countries were invited to participate in an extensive process of evaluating the Lines of Action approved at the 2021 General Assembly. For this purpose, they were given access to the Final Document of the previous Assembly, explanatory materials, and evaluation forms made available directly through the app.
Throughout those months, the National Councils reflected on the progress, challenges, and experiences within their local realities in four major areas of work: the Ecclesial Dimension, the Marian and Vincentian Dimension, the Lay Dimension, and the challenges related to Solidarity and Financial Sustainability. The contributions submitted by the countries will serve as a basis for the reflections and decisions that will take place during the General Assembly.
In addition, the app offers resources to help participants organize their participation in the gathering, such as the ability to review and update their registration details, personal information, and travel-related information.
During the General Assembly, the platform will continue to play a fundamental role. Through it, participants will have access to working documents, daily minutes, session materials, songs and resources for the celebrations, as well as other information important for the smooth running of the gathering.
The app will also be used for specific Assembly processes, allowing participants to learn about the candidates for the new International Council and follow the procedures related to voting and the discernment that will mark this important moment in the life of VMY.
Available in the Association’s four official languages, the app was designed to facilitate the participation of all countries, strengthen international communion, and make the process of preparing for and holding the Assembly more accessible.
As we draw closer to Salamanca, this tool continues to remind us that the Assembly is not limited to the days of the gathering. It is already being built through the prayer, reflection, listening, and active participation of the entire VMY Family throughout the world.
